1. Welcome
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Mid Street Lab & The Vault.
We’re a CIC non-profit supporting early-career, emerging and local artists while creating welcoming cultural spaces for everyone.
Volunteers keep our doors open, our visitors welcomed and our exhibitions alive.

3. Why Volunteer?

4. Volunteer Roles
Gallery Invigilation – Welcome visitors, support exhibitions, collect feedback
Installation Support – Help with prep, install/deinstall, materials, labels
Event Support – Openings, talks, workshops, guest flow
Retail Support – Assist in the art shop, restock, display
Digital Support – Photos, videos, IG stories, content creation
Choose one role or mix and match.

6. Expectations
We ask volunteers to:
- Be punctual, respectful, reliable
- Uphold inclusivity & anti-discrimination
- Handle artwork safely
- Follow health & safety guidance
We provide:
Training, supervision, clear communication and a supportive environment.
7. Scheduling
Flexible shifts:
- Weekdays at the Lab
- Thurs–Mon at The Vault
- Opening nights, workshops, installs
Shifts are 2–4 hours and work around your classes, studio time or other commitments.

9. Safeguarding & CIC Notes
- Volunteers hold no legal responsibilities
- Directors manage safeguarding & compliance
- A senior team member is always on site
- Volunteers covered by public liability insurance
- GDPR policies apply
