About
Still Making: Those Who Can't Do, Teach"
What's happening
Still Making gathers educators who continue to create in the margins of busy lives, between classrooms, care, marking, paid work and community commitments. Some make daily. Some return when they can. All are still artists.
This is not an open call but a collaboration: a shared space to be visible, to reconnect with practice, and to honour the cultural labour educators carry.
Still Making celebrates the quiet persistence, resilience, and imagination that sustain both teaching and art, and invites those who live between the two to step forward, together.
We invite friends & allies, patrons, collectors and press at the Opening Private View taking place Saturday 21 March 5-8pm.
Still Making will run from 15 March to 15 April 2026 at The Vault – Brighton Contemporary Art, our seafront gallery dedicated to emerging voices and creative citizens. The exhibition coincides with UNESCO World Art Day, creating a timely moment to honour the artists shaping culture inside and beyond the classroom. This first of its kind show will bring together up to 20 art educators, presenting a diverse range of practices developed alongside teaching, community work, and everyday life.
Expect an evolving exhibition supported by talks, gatherings, and moments of exchange throughout the month.
