About the Exhibition

Mid Street Lab is proud to present Between the Trees, a solo exhibition by Brighton-based artist Rachel Benjamin. This exhibition invites viewers into a contemplative space where art and nature converge, exploring themes of memory, identity, and the passage of time.

Rachel's work is deeply inspired by the natural world, blending its inherent beauty with elements of mystery to create surreal landscapes that serve as gateways to self-discovery. Her paintings reflect a journey through life's adventures, guided by the ever-present influence of nature.

Having studied fine art at Brighton University, Rachel has made the city her cherished home, contributing to its vibrant creative community both as an artist and educator for nearly two decades.

Exhibition Highlights

This solo exhibition invites us into Rachel’s shadowy woods—where owls, moons, and symbolic landscapes emerge from the spaces between the real and the imagined. Her paintings reflect a childhood spent navigating inner worlds, now translated into textured, emotionally resonant works that hold space for reflection and wonder.
