About The Local Loop & Annual Partner Scheme

Operated by Wach’Art CIC, Mid Street Lab and The Vault form two connected cultural spaces with distinct but complementary roles.

Mid Street Lab is an experimental, process-led environment embedded in Kemptown, supporting shared studio practice, artistic development and public-facing creative work.

The Vault is our seafront gallery, focused on exhibitions, visibility, audiences and meaningful encounters between artists and the public.

Together, they create a year-round cultural ecosystem where artistic research, public presentation, community engagement and local partnership continuously feed one another.

The Local Loop

The Local Loop connects Brighton’s independent businesses, artists, residents and visitors through a simple idea:

Local support should circulate locally.

Participating businesses help strengthen grassroots culture by promoting exhibitions, offering customer rewards, supporting artists or contributing goods, services and small-scale funding.

In return, partners become part of a visible creative network that encourages audiences to discover local businesses, attend exhibitions, meet artists and keep more cultural value within the city.

The Local Loop may include:

  • Cross-promotion between businesses and Wach’Art spaces
  • Exhibition and event recommendations for customers
  • Art rewards, vouchers or local offers
  • Collaborative campaigns and creative experiences
  • Artist-designed materials or limited editions
  • Shared storytelling across digital and physical platforms
  • Opportunities to host workshops, talks or community activity
  • Invitations to private views and partner gatherings

The aim is not to create another discount scheme.

It is to build stronger relationships between the people who make Brighton distinctive.

Become an Annual Partner

Our Annual Partner Scheme is for businesses and organisations that want to support more than one event.

Annual partners contribute to Wach’Art’s wider programme across the year, helping us provide consistent opportunities for artists, maintain accessible cultural spaces and deliver meaningful activity for local communities.

Support may take the form of:

  • An annual financial contribution
  • Printing, materials or professional services
  • Refreshments and hospitality
  • Artist rewards or customer vouchers
  • Marketing and audience development
  • Technology, documentation or equipment access
  • Staff volunteering or specialist expertise
  • Collaborative public programmes

Each partnership is shaped around shared values, practical capacity and the kind of local impact both organisations want to create.

Annual partners may receive:

  • Recognition across selected exhibitions and campaigns
  • Inclusion on our website and partner materials
  • Invitations to private views and special events
  • Opportunities for staff and clients to engage with artists
  • Collaborative content and storytelling
  • Access to creative experiences, workshops or talks
  • Association with an independent, socially rooted cultural programme
  • Priority conversations around future projects and partnerships

What’s Happening

This is not one-off programming.

It is an evolving platform for purposeful contemporary art.

Across 2026, our programme includes exhibitions, artist residencies, shared studio activity, workshops, masterclasses, youth engagement, professional development and public events.

Every project is designed to:

  • Support artists fairly and visibly
  • Activate independent cultural spaces
  • Invite the public into creative process, not only finished outcomes
  • Encourage connection, reflection and community wellbeing
  • Create routes between artists, residents, visitors and local organisations
  • Build lasting cultural value within Brighton

For small businesses and ethical brands, partnership is not simply transactional.

It is relational.

It offers a meaningful way to:

  • Connect directly with local communities
  • Support Brighton-based and regional artists
  • Contribute to accessible public culture
  • Align with social, environmental and cultural values
  • Become part of Brighton’s creative infrastructure
  • Participate in a growing, values-led network
  • Help independent culture remain visible and sustainable

What Partnership Supports

By partnering with Mid Street Lab × The Vault, businesses and organisations help enable:

  • Artist fees and sustainable production
  • Free or accessible public exhibitions and events
  • Grassroots artist development
  • Experimental and risk-positive creative practice
  • Community and youth engagement
  • Documentation, interpretation and audience development
  • Cross-neighbourhood cultural activity
  • The not-for-profit work of Wach’Art CIC

Our partners are not simply sponsors of isolated events.

They are collaborators in a living cultural project.

If your business has been looking for a genuine way to engage with Brighton’s creative life—to support something visible, independent and socially rooted—this is an opportunity to become part of it.

Contemporary art becomes the medium.
The city becomes the conversation.
Partnership becomes the catalyst.
